Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has been contributing towards the health of auto rickshaw & taxi drivers through various CSR initiatives. In furtherance of this initiative, MGL organized Free Eye Check up Camps for the auto drivers at Kandivili and Mira Road on 2nd and 4th October 09 respectively. The camps were inaugurated by Mr. P. K. Gupta, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited.
Earlier a similar eye check up camp had been organized at Bandra in July 09. Taking this initiative further these two camps were organized. This initiative of MGL was appreciated by the autorickshaw drivers. MGL proposes to organize more such camps for the benefit of autorickshaw and taxi drivers.
The camp was organized in coordination with the auto unions through a team of Ophthalmologists. Besides checking the eyes the beneficiaries were given basic information on eye care.
